REDUCING THE COST OF LIVING:

Prevented the largest tax increase in American history which was on track to occur when the 2017 tax cuts expired.

Increasing the standard deduction for every American — giving everyone relief after the worst inflation in decades.

Permanently expanding the Child Tax Credit to $2,200 from $1,000 and tying it to inflation so that it always keeps its value.

A new, $6,000 bonus deduction for seniors, meaning no tax on Social Security for 88% of Americans over 65.

Tax relief for tipped and overtime workers, so that millions of hardworking Americans can keep more of what they’ve earned.

Preserving Medicare by supporting increased investments every year – no cuts – while also slowing the rate of spending growth to help keep the system available to Americans.

Investing in over one million new affordable housing units through the largest expansion of federal affordable housing tax credits ever.

SUPPORTING WORKING FAMILIES:

Permanently expanded the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit, helping to reduce costs for working parents.

Expanding the employee-sponsored Childcare Tax Credit to increase childcare availability.

Increased caps on dependent-care assistance plans, helping parents to save and budget for childcare expenses.

Established tax-free investment accounts for newborns – with $1,000 in starter funding – so parents can get a head start on saving for their children’s future.

Successfully advocating for resources for Head Start, ensuring that working parents are able to continue accessing high-quality affordable childcare.

Supporting the Women, Infants, and Children Supplementary Nutrition Program (WIC) so that families can continue to access nutritious food.

PROTECTING OUR COMMUNITIES:

Brought home more than $5 million to support police, fire fighters, and first responders. Projects include new buildings, communications technology, and equipment.

Reduced illegal border crossings to record lows and provided the resources to secure the border once and for all.

Secured funding to improve anti-trafficking technologies so that our communities are protected against the scourge of illegal drugs and human trafficking.

Reduced crime to the lowest level in decades, including the lowest murder rate on record.

WORKING ACROSS THE AISLE:

Co-Leading bipartisan legislation to crack down on health insurance middlemen, streamlining healthcare and reducing costs for the American people.

Finding common ground on reducing costs for working families by expanding the child tax credit and investing in childcare.

Working with Democrats and Republicans to support military families and veterans by improving early mental health intervention, streamlining VA customer support, and expanding access to free and low-cost diapers and meals for kids.

Supporting traveling families by joining with Democratic members of Congress to require airlines to reimburse costs for damaged strollers, and co-leading legislation to expand the availability of diaper changing stations.
